The design of these sconces are based on the idea of breaking down traditional lamp design
symmetry. Usually lamps are designed with point or line symmetry, but the Quanta sconces
break their internal symmetry by setting the glass elements off the center line, making
the lamps speak to the space outside its own sphere. This idea comes from modern physics,
where Quantum Mechanics explains how nuclear symmetries are broken down by the existence
of new particles, and a new balance is achieved. The lamps are designed to be used in groups
or on there own. They are made of handmade metal cases with glass openings.
The cases are made of either stainless steel, and the glass comes in
a multitude of designs and colors. |
